Easy reading with an edge
Who is Karen Botha?
I’m disappointingly boring I’m afraid. I read, all authors do. I like to walk my
dog and I love cooking. I exercise regularly in my home gym and have a day job too.
I’m a reflexologist specialisling in fertility and pregnancy which I am fascinated
by every day -
So, when I needed to fill a page with interesting information about myself, it was difficult to come up with something. And then I wondered whether you wouldn’t like to see some of the things that make me happy.
So in lieu of me being any more interesting, here goes!

Favourite book of all time?
Shantaram without a doubt. My favourite place in the world is India and this book brings back so many memories of my time travelling there. Plus it’s insightful and incredibly interesting.
What I’ve read recently?
A Material Harvest stands out as being easy to read, but a plot that keeps you guessing to the end. You learn a bit about banking, but I have to be honest, when I read the blurb on the back I wondered it this would be too complicated, it’s not. Go for it!
Likewise with Heathrow, I wondered if I’d be lost with technical jargon. I wasn’t. Again, a fascinating plot and well worth a few hours of your time.
Sometimes I like to switch off. For this I need a different type of book, no stress or tension. I read The Day I Lost You recently which I thoroughly enjoyed, although it does pull at your heart strings somewhat.
So what about your exercise then?
I do a lot of free weights, body weight exercise and band work. However, I also love my bike. It’s my treat to myself and well worth every penny. I tried other bikes before hand that had good reviews, but sent them back. This one has such a range of gear options and a smooth pedal system, in the long term it will be good to my joints.
